Control System SM-1
SM-1 Control System
All Luigs & Neumann's modules are controlled with clearly arranged key-pads.
Up to six different dimensional axes on two different levels can be used in movement range.
The following functions enable ease and capability of operation:
-
Two different ranges of speed are provided:
SPEED (FAST): 1.00 mm/s - 6.00 mm/s
SLOW: 0.04 mm/s - 0.68 mm/s
The speeds are easily and individually adjustable per key-pad or computerized interface.
-
Guide-wheels are provided for movement of the manipulators in micro-steps:
1 revolution = 400 micro-steps = 40 µm
-
The HOME-function provided gives a means to quick movement out of the area of work back to a pre-determined saved position with µm-spatial accuracy.
-
Zero-Point setting allows each manipulator to be automatically moved back to a previously saved position, again with µm-spatial accuracy.
-
Limit-Switching (with software) allows the exact definition of a work-range.
-
Position-saving of up to three positions on each level is possible, helping to target cells in the chamber.
-
Standby operations, involves switching off the current to the motors during electrophysiological signal-recording and keeps noise to a minimum.
All positions are kept with µm-spatial accuracy.
-
Accessories are available for all needs, such as TTL-coupling for the Piezo-Stepper.
The SM-1 Control system is available with or without battery-powered RAM; the functionality of the key-pad is correspondingly dependent.
Limit-switching, zero-point and other positional functions can only be saved by using a version with battery-powered RAM.
These saved positional values will only be altered through new input or deliberate deletion, and are not affected by switching the main current to the apparatus off.
A V24-interface for automization of desired functions is available.
